Moo’s Dinner Table Vol. 1, Beef Porridge

Moo’s Dinner Table Vol. 1, Beef Porridge

My Grandma said, “This broth will make you stronger — little by little.”

When the wind gets sharp and you don’t feel like eating, this is what we make.

A pot of porridge, slow-cooked with beef bone broth, sweet corn, and a handful of celery.

No rules. No rush.

Just warmth.

🥣 Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice (jasmine or short grain)
  • 6 cups beef bone broth (homemade if possible)
  • 1/2 cup sweet corn (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 stalk celery, chopped
  • (or any veggies you like — cooking should be soothing, not stressful)
  • A few slices of ginger (optional, but soothing)
  • Sea salt or soy sauce, to taste

How We Make It

  • Rinse the rice and soak for 30 minutes if you have time. (Or use cooked rice to save time — we all have those days.)
  • In a large pot, bring the beef bone broth to a gentle boil.
  • Add the rice and ginger slices. Lower the heat to simmer.
  • Stir occasionally so the rice doesn’t stick to the bottom.
  • After about 45 minutes, the porridge will start to thicken.
  • Add corn and celery (or other veggies you like), and cook for another 10–15 minutes.
  • Season with sea salt or a splash of soy sauce. (If you want a bit more color, soy sauce is a nice touch — just taste it as you go. Don’t go overboard... XDD)
  • Serve warm. Feel better already.

🐮 Moo Moo's Note:

Some days, healing doesn’t need fancy.

Just something warm.

Something simple.

Something real.

We grew up eating food like this —not to impress, but to nourish.
